StudentScholars Music – ‘Drum Lessons‘ is for any caters to beginners, intermediate and advanced students of any age. It is an individual customized program.
Program 1: Learn to Play Your Favorite Songs:
-Learners are welcome to let us know their favorite songs they would like to learn in class. Instructors will teach the theory behind the music and help the learner to play the songs.
-Please send us the song you would like to start with at least 24 hours before the start of the class. You can send us a YouTube link, the name of the song, sheet music, chord chart or lead sheets.
Program 2: Learn Fundamentals of The Instrument
– Learners will learn Music Theory while learning a variety of genres of music.
– Learners will start with Beginner level material and move on to Intermediate level pieces when they are comfortable playing Beginner pieces and have learnt the Fundamentals in Music theory.
-If the learner has previous experience, the instructor will assess him/her and teach any gaps the learner has in the beginner level before moving into intermediate level pieces.
Program 3: Prepare for an Exam (RCM , Trinity etc.)
– Learners can practice and perfect their pieces in order to prepare for a music exam.
-Please send us your song material at least 24 hours before the start of the class.

Listed fee is per 30-minutes once a week. We charge per class for a month.

Meet The Program Instructor:
Ara Arakelyan
For Ara music has always been a way of life. He started taking music classes at the age of five and his first instrument was the piano.
At age thirteen, he started learning saxophone and eventually graduated with Honours from the special Music School Sayat-Nova for Gifted Children. From there, he entered the Komitas State Conservatory, where he received his B. A. and M.A. in Wind Instruments with specialization in Classical Saxophone.
During the six years of musical university, Ara simultaneously took classical guitar and drum classes at the same music school named after “Sayat-Nova”, where he started teaching himself from the year of 2011-2013. In the period of 2005 – 2012, Ara performed more than eighty solo and collaborative recitals and participated in eight international Competitions & Festivals in Armenia, Germany, Sweden, USA, Georgia, and Egypt. He is a Laureate of the “Golden Note” Amateur Arts Festival, “Renaissance” International Competition, VI Youth Delphic Games among CIS countries and the Kavkaz Jazz Fest.
As of now, Ara has already recorded one CD album and three DVD albums. Since 2010, Ara has worked mainly as a performer, the lead Saxophonist of the Armenian National Symphonic Orchestra, and pedagogue at various teaching levels including music schools and colleges. He was also a soloist at the Armenian National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet from 2011 – 2013 . In 2013 Ara moved to Canada where he continued his studies taking Jazz Performance at Humber College. While specializing in Jazz performance with Saxophone and Piano, Ara continued taking guitar and drum classes from the world known musicians. In 2016, Ara completed a one year music program at York university. Ara has started a very successful career and is running a very busy studio as a performer and pedagogue at various teaching levels – music schools, conservatories and colleges.
