Math Excellence Contest - November 2025​​​

Join the StudentScholars Math Excellence Contest in Markham – November 2025 (Grades 1 to 7)

StudentScholars Private School in Markham is excited to host a Math Competition this November for students in Grades 1 to 7. This fun and challenging event is designed to spark critical thinking, enhance problem-solving skills, and build confidence in mathematics. Open to students across Markham and surrounding areas, the competition encourages academic excellence in a supportive and engaging environment.

Whether your child loves math or is looking for a new challenge, this is a great opportunity to compete, learn, and grow!

Event Details:
Date: Saturday, November 1st, 2025
Location: StudentScholars Private School Units 2, 60 Riviera Drive, Markham ON L3R 5M1
Eligible Grades: 1 to 7

Each grade will participate during its scheduled time slot, followed by an award ceremony immediately after.

Participation Fee: $25
To secure your child’s spot, both the registration form and payment must be submitted before the deadline.

Competition Time Schedule

Participants are asked to arrive at least 10 minutes before the competition begins.

  • Grade 1:9:30 - 10:00 am

  • Grade 2:10:30 - 11:00 am

  • Grade 3:11:30 - 12:00 pm

  • Grade 4:12:30 - 1:00 pm

  • Grade 5:1:30 - 2:00 pm

  • Grade 6:2:30 - 3:00 pm

  • Grade 7:3:30 - 4:00 pm

Registration Deadline:
Wednesday, October 29th, 2025, at 5:00 PM. No registrations will be accepted after this deadline.

 

Please note: A minimum of 8 participants per grade/group is required for the competition to proceed. If this requirement is not met, you will be notified at least 2 days in advance of the competition date.

Math Competition Rules (Grades 1–7)

Format: 20 Multiple-Choice Questions | Time: 30 Minutes

General Rules:

  1. Number of Questions: The test will consist of 20 multiple-choice questions based on the grade.

  2. Time Limit: Students will have 30 minutes to complete the test.

  3. No Calculators: Calculators, phones, or any electronic devices are not allowed.

  4. No Help Allowed: This is an individual competition. Students must complete the test without assistance from others.

  5. No Talking: Once the test begins, there should be no talking or sharing of answers.

  6. Answer Format: Students must clearly circle or mark the correct option (A, B, C, or D) for each question.

  7. One Answer Only: Only one answer per question will be accepted. If more than one answer is selected, the question will be marked incorrect.

  8. Time Warnings: Students will be given a 5-minute warning before time is up.

  9. No Extra Time: When time is called, all work must stop immediately. Late submissions will not be accepted.

  10. Tiebreakers: In case of a tie, a bonus question or a short timed challenge may be used to determine the winner.

  11. Scoring: Each correct answer earns 1 point. There are no penalties for wrong answers or skipped questions.

  • Gold Medal

  • Certificate

  • Gift voucher for 1 free class from StudentScholars
    (Transferable to any child aged 4 to 13)

2nd Place:

  • Silver Medal

  • Certificate

3rd Place:

  • Bronze Medal

  • Certificate

  • Certificate of Participation​
